The Dão Demarcated Region was established on an unknown date in 1908, located in central Portugal, in the province of Beira Alta.

It was the first demarcated region for non-liqueur wines in the country and the second demarcated wine region in the country. The Dão region is known as Portuguese Burgundy.

Wines from the Dão Demarcated Region are gastronomic wines, with exceptional acidity and complex and delicate aromas. Its character, complexity, elegance, balance, maturity, aging potential and perfect combination with local cuisine

Touriga nacional: it is the noblest variety, it produces wines with good alcohol content, with intense, full-bodied aromas, with noble tannins and susceptible to long aging.

Encruzado: among the white grape varieties, it is the most noble. It has a good alcohol content, with complex, fresh and relatively dry aromas.

Alfrocheiro Black: gives the wines fine aromas that gain complexity over the years.

Jaen: has a regular alcohol content, with intense aromas of very ripe fruits. It has quality tannins and a lot of softness.
